It feels like such a long time ago when Mr. and Mrs. May first booked their build with us, but the 9-month wait flew by! As the build date approached, it was time for a Friday consultation to select all the necessary options and textiles.

The May’s opted for a very neutral colour palette, incorporating various shades of Grey and light wood grains. Their goal was to create an interior that would never become boring—nothing too flashy, just a simple, elegant design focused on functionality.

We used Lorenzo Oak furniture from the masters at Egger Laminates, paired with Altro Transfloor floor covering and Corian countertops. The interior features high-quality Grey leather with matching top stitching and an integrated perforation and stitch design, showcasing the true talent of the NWCC HQ trim shop.

This T6.1 LWB Verso conversion is topped with the Reimo Easy Fit roof, along with a Voltronic German engineering management battery system. It also includes the renowned Volkswagen California seat bed, which features a full front-to-back slide action to create room when needed.

The build didn’t stop at the sliding door. We upgraded to 18” wheels and installed Eibach comfort spring suspension for a smoother ride. The full LV front bumper was swapped out for a more aggressive, sporty look, complemented by a rear spoiler and a roof-mounted solar panel, providing extra power in a discreet style.

Building and photographing this van was an absolute pleasure, especially with the striking Fontana Red Volkswagen paint that was almost impossible to miss in the autumn sunlight. Topped with a 5-year ceramic paint coating, this van is ready for adventures and precious retirement memories to be made.
