The Ellis’ VWT5 Sportline Interior Kombi Conversion.

With only 150 Limited Edition X Sportline VWT5 Transporters produced, The Ellis family were keen to create something special with their recent purchase of No 51. Having three small children, the SWB 2009 panel Van in Reflex Silver had a Kombi spec interior upgrade with plenty of extras so suit the requirements and taste of the family. A more car like interior finish was most desirable to ensure the little ones travelled in comfort and style, as well as dad having his big boys toy.
Up front were some changes to enhance the appearance of the cab, a brand new VWT6 Highline spec multifunction steering wheel. The first for NWCC the installation of the brand new Kenwood DNX516 DABS head unit with a 7.0″ Clear Resistive Touch Panel, DAB+ Tuner Built-in, Bluetooth Built-in (HFP & Audio streaming), Bluetooth Wireless Audio Browsing, Garmin Navigation System Built-in and apple car-play.
Originally having the well known Sportline upholstery, it was time to put a modern twist on a new interior finish. Incorporating the VW Golf GTE: Black/Grey/Blue plaid within the centre of the first and second row seating, along with a twin stitch blue and grey cotton for detailing. As with any Sportline upholstery the branding is boldly detailed within the seating, here we have understated the branding with custom a de-bossing, including the Limited Edition X. The original woven tags detailing No 51 of 150 have even been incorporated into the new 1st row upholstery.
Rear entertainment has been installed to keep the little ones entertained on day to day journeys; With a 13″ overhead flipdown TV/DVD player, 4″ rear speakers and numerous 12v and USB charging points. As long as the kids are happy, dad was able to further enhance the vehicle with external upgrades. Further enhancing the sportline exterior with the addition of BBS 20″ SV Alloy wheels and Bilstein’s B14 threaded ride height adjustable coil over kit.
