Querying whether or not to invest in a new VW T6 the Merrylees’ family wanted to make a start on putting their spare time to good use. Not wanting to overindulge with purchasing a new vehicle and then opting for a full camper conversion to then discover that the outdoor lifestyle wasn’t for them, the perfect solution to dip their toe in the outdoor lifestyle was to convert their already owned VW T5 Kombi and opt for NWCC’s sports multipurpose conversion.

The sports multipurpose conversion is a conversion that many families opt for when they still want the niceties of home. Families who want the luxury of a full width sleeping platform which is achieved with the RIB 150cm 3-person seat/bed system, those who don’t require cooking facilities within their vehicle as they will be venturing to local restaurants, because who wants to cook on holiday? This style of build does still include the necessities needed for enjoying the out doors with a discrete 240v hook up point located under the bonnet and full 12v electrics with the Sargent power distribution system.

Every client build is different, mainly down to the vast choice of materials available to style the conversion to suit any taste; However this build has been tweaked to suit a twin side loading door vehicle. With the standard sports multipurpose conversion having a low level storage unit which is located underneath the off side window housing the Sargent power distribution unit, this has been deleted out of this specific build due to this limiting the access via the off side sliding door. The Sargent power distribution has been relocated underneath the RIB completely freeing up the passenger floor space.

Even though this conversion is a “tester” for the Merrylees family adding a little bit of luxury with some Alcantara detailing to the underside of the Reimo VTEC elevating roof was a must! Additionally we suggested upholstering the elevating roof pelmets to coincide with the roof bed underside, this ensuring that the entire headlining boasts Alcantara.

Already the Merrylees family are thinking of the specification for their next conversion!
