THE Preeces’ TRADITIONAL ‘LUX’ CAMPER CONVERSION

THE Preeces’ TRADITIONAL ‘LUX’ CAMPER CONVERSION

With a family of five to accommodate within the converted VW Transporter, initially there were decisions to be made as to which build available at NWCC was best suited to this families needs. A popular configuration is NWCC’s Traditional Lux Conversion, however to accomodate five seats the double passenger bench needs to be incorporated instead of the preferred single captain chair. To allow 1st row captain seats and maintain five seating positions, another popular build is NWCC’s Trio Conversion, this build although giving a wider rear seat, includes slimmer cabinetry which wasn’t suited to the Preece’s.

With any build in house here at NWCC the initial build is subject to the layout chosen out of our numerous interiors available, each build can then be added to and customised to suit any individual lifestyle. Each build is discussed and altered accordingly to ensure the enduser is satisfied. This build has been slightly tweaked to allow the family the exact interior components required. Opting to incorporate under chassis products including a 30L water tank, 20L gas tank and leisure batteries, this allowed for maximum storage within the cabinetry. The specification of NWCC’s Traditional Lux conversion includes the CAN Foldy LC1701 Sink & Single Burner (Round Smoked Glass Lid), however this wasn’t suitable for a family of five therefore a Can twin burner has been incorporated to meet their needs. To ensure that no storage space was lost or compromised with the larger combi unit being installed, inspiration was taken from NWXCC’s Beach conversion with a Staron Solid Surface draw front above the Waeco CRX50 Fridge.

Exterior alterations are all client preference, this can be down to personal choice for the overall aesthetic appearance of the vehicle or to enhance the performance. Other upgrades included, Silicone Boost Hoses and Thule Rapid System (962) Wing Bars. With a complete front end overhaul, the exterior transformation was completed with Gloss Black Colour-Code to Front Bumper Lower Grille, Gloss Black Colour-Code to Wing Mirror Mounts / Surround Bezels / Lower Caps, a T5 Caravelle Front Grille, a T5 Front Bumper – Lower Grille Streamer and Front Bumper Day Time Running Lights.
