The Tavernier’s VWT6 LWB Traditional ‘Lux’ Camper Conversion

Working within a unique industry organising the ultimate muddy runs and obstacle course races! From 5km, 10km & 10m courses across the UK, the Tavernier’s not only wanted a converted vehicle for work purposes but to use in their down time.

The Tavernier’s contacted NWCC back in June 2016 to discuss their ideal conversion specification, keen to book onto the NWCC schedule for early 2017. We also assisted the Tavernier’s with their base vehicle purchase ensuring that they had the ultimate spec base van for the chosen conversion.

The Volkswagen Transporter (T32) Kombi Highline (LWB) Euro6 204ps 2.0TDI BMT DSG 4-Motion, was delivered to NWCC on March 3rd. Having had the opportunity to complete all of the possible preparation works in house in the weeks leading up to the scheduled conversion, this build was completed within 20 working days. The Tavernier’s collected their vehicle on Wednesday 5th April two happy campers!

This build specification has been upgraded with plenty of practical extras both internally and externally. We’ve cleaned up the dashboard with a VW multimedia system DNX516DABS. The superb high-resolution screen shows directions, track listings and a whole wealth of information very clearly. It offers multiple levels of connectivity, making it simple to talk hands-free or use your favourite music player. Additional to complete the Kenwood upgrades we have installed the latest Kenwood CMOS 320 – The multi-view camera is equipped with an advanced image processor that is capable of altering viewing angles and increasing the number of viewing options including corner views and adding graphic guidelines to the camera image. Easily switch between the many viewing options using.

There are ways to enhance all builds with practical extras such as the Slimline Elevating Roof 150W Solar Panel Package. To ensure maximum internal storage within your NWCC conversion, under chassis products are recommended with the location of a underbody water tank, under chassis leisure batteries and an under chassis LPG Gas tank. Both water and gas fill points are neatly located under the rear bumper, with an additional BBQ fill point at client request.

To really set your interior aside from other conversions, you can opt to incorporate alcantara throughout the headlining. This also adds to the warm & cosy feel within.
