Having spent months looking for the perfect specification of base vehicle that was suitable for this family, the ideal van came up for sale and was purchased accordingly. The van itself had low mileage and a full service history, it was a VW T5 2014 (LWB) Multivan; We came to the conclusion that the previous owner had purchased the incorrect vehicle for their desired purpose, the OEM interior plastics of the vehicle were badly damaged and the seating in poor condition, implying that the vehicle had been used more as a van for carrying supplies than a passenger carrier.

This conversion started with a complete strip down, fully removing the original Multivan interior. The only original elements of the interior to be kept were the VW T5 (LWB) Multivan / Caravelle floor guide rails and OEM side wall mouldings. For additional sound deadening and insulation the vehicle was fully lined with Skinz an automotive sound deadener to Side walls, door panels and ceiling. A replacement VW Caravelle (LWB) floor and all brand new guide rail trims, side steps and fittings ensured that the interior looked refreshed.

The new VW T6 Caravelle two-tone Alcantara & Leather seating also include the child seat modification which is built in to the 2nd row single chairs, this is a rare option with these seats and works perfectly for this family with the many grandchildren who will be enjoying this vehicle. With team NWCC not having had the opportunity to previously complete works within a multivan, we held no patterns for the 1st row chairs. This meant complete pattern making of the 1st row seating to allow our upholsterer to complete the upholstery to coincide with the rear seating supplied.

To complete the interior aesthetics, a dark grey Milano suede has been used to upholster not only the front headlining, the entire rear headlining, and the A,B,C and D top pillars. Exchanging the original warm yellow lighting for crisp white LED’s throughout the headlining ensures a bright light source within the darkened rear. Additionally for privacy all rear windows have been tinted.

Its hard to keep littles ones entertained on long car journeys and with a handful of grand children to entertain the installation of an over head flip down Tv was a necessity. When they aren’t in the vehicle the Ultimate Audison audio package will keep the grown ups happy, The vehicle now offers the perfect sound with the installation of Audison ‘AP8 & AP1’ Prima Front Speakers & Tweeters, Audison ‘APX’ Prima 6.5″ Rear Speakers and a Audison ‘AP4D’ Prima 4-CHANNEL Amplifier.

With a complete interior transformation, it would be cruel not to make some modifications to the exterior. Wanting to initially replicate a Sportline the addition of VW T5 Sportline front & rear spoilers, 30mm Eibach lowering springs, and VW T5 (LWB) side bars were added. Sadly with the Original VW T5 Sportline alloy wheels no longer available to purchase via VW, we opted for the amazing BBS XA 18″ alloy wheel in satin black with polished face.

To finalise the entire build, some exterior dents were removed, along with the removal of some vinyl graphics fitted by the previous owner. The entire vehicle was then treated to NWCC’s Auto detailing service.

Departing NWCC this vehicle looked like a completely different vehicle to what arrived 10 days previously.
