Our first verso conversion of 2023 took format of a familiar face; timeless NWCC design cues that have been ever-popular since release. Working in conjunction with our trusted distributors Status 1 Automotive, we worked closely with Mr W on his first ever Transporter conversion, creating “the best birthday present I have ever given myself”.
A long-time follower of the New Wave and Status 1 social media platforms, Mr W had observed our work from afar for many years. “I purchased my first motorhome just before lockdown began; a tired Fiat Ducato in need of some fairly major TLC!. For all it’s flaws, it allowed me to fulfil my dreams of travelling around the UK in my weekends off work.” Contacting us to organise his dream build, Mr W had plans of escaping outside of the UK in 2023. “Whilst I love my Ducato, I now need something more reliable and refined. A NWCC Verso was the only vehicle to tick all of my boxes”!
Wishing to emulate the specifications of Verso’s that had previously featured on our blog and social media channels, Mr W had fallen in love with our signature rainbow top stitch over fine Nappa black leather, paired with stunning red splash back. With the final build specification decided on, work set about at our new Cowbridge factory to build Mr W’s Verso. Based on the outskirts of Leeds, we worked closely with our Verso distributors Status 1 Automotive to supply Mr W his new T6.1, adding S1 embossing to the Leather across this conversion.
Of course, behind the scenes a Votronic 5747 VPC control unit controls the vehicle… described by our CEO Mike as “the genius behind the the build”. When building our Verso’s, only the best products on the market will do. The Votronic system ensures power generated from the 180 watt solar panel is able work in conjunction with the Votronic 3244 battery charger, and charge Green Power leisure battery. This in turn can then power the onboard Dometic appliances, allowing for off-grid adventures all year round! This goes into every Verso we build, and makes van operation for the end user completely seamless!
Finishing touches on this build included ‘Concrete’ furniture board panelling, Silkweve Elephant blinds and Corian Sanded Stratus work surfaces (with a bespoke etched chopping board to match). Our custom deep-pile mats with Status 1 embroidery are fitted as a final flourish, the importance of creating emotion through all ‘touch surfaces’ should never be overlooked!
It was a pleasure to work alongside Mr W and our distributors Status 1 when building this Verso. We love it when our clients approach us with an exact specification in mind, and we were informed that Mr W was over the moon with his new T6.1 upon collection day!
