The Caven’s VW T6 Sports Multipurpose Conversion
As each build passes through the NWCC workshop month after month, the NWCC team work to improve on and enhance any element of the conversion specifications that we have on offer. The Caven’s ‘Sports Multipurpose’ build now showcases the new and improved conversion specification available for 2018 onwards. When recently converting a VW T6 for the Foster’s alterations to the Sports Multipurpose were needed to accommodate fixed storage space to house competition Triathlon bikes, this meant altering the original low-level unit located underneath the off side window due to the RIB being located further forward. Seeing how practical this re-designed unit was offering more storage space we have decided to standardise it in our Sports Multipurpose conversions going forward.
The Sports Multipurpose is a build that has become more popular over the years, with clients not wanting an all singing all dancing camper, simply a luxurious people carrier / car with the option to sleep inside on occasion. The full specification of the build does cover all basis with the compact WEACO coolmitic CD30 30L draw fridge and all of the electrical requirements the same as any traditional build. This is exactly why the Caven family opted for this style of build; Mainly using their T6 as a day to day drive but when the opportunity for a spontaneous over night stop arises they can jump at the chance.
Plenty of subtle upgrades have been incorporated as apart of this build, which massively enhance the vehicle overall. Externally, planning to use the van as a daily drive it was best for the Caven’s to opt for the 18” BBS XA alloy wheels and B14 Bilstein suspension combination combined with H&R anti roll bars, providing comfort and practicality for day to day drivability. Internally, instead of the usual leather upholstery upgrade that is combined with the OEM Golf GTD fabric we opted to use an OEM titan black cloth which worked really well, it made the interior feel so much cosier and warmer.
This is another build on the road from NWCC which returned back to Scotland; when customers are willing to travel such a distance to use our service it really is heartwarming!
